Ana Ocasio Youth Scholarship Foundatation (AOYSF)

Creating Leaders is a sub committee of the Lowell Puerto Rican Cultural Festival, also known as "Hijos de Borinquen". This committee is organized by the Hispanic Youth Group. Their purpose is to strive and raise funds for scholarships, in recognition of Ana Ocasio, one of our greatest leaders and activist of the Hispanic community.

Ana Ocasio has been an advocate for the Hispanic Community for over 30 years. She is also the founder of "Hijos de Borinquen" the organization that puts on the annual Puerto Rican Cultural Festival, with the objective of encouraging Puerto Rican youth to be aware and proud of their heritage.

She has worked with the Lowell Public School Department to make changes in the school system, in order to facilitate and support the education of Hispanic children.

Mrs Ocasio's hard work and dedication to the Puerto Rican Community, has inspired us to create a scholarship program for the Hispanic community in her honor, to help less fortunate children have a brighter future.
